Enabling API on your Shopify Store

In order for us to do work such as migrations for your store, we often require API access. The following is a quick guide on how to do this.

Login to your Shopify dashboard and click on Apps in the left pane.

Scroll to the very bottom of the page and click Develop apps for your store

Click Allow custom app development

Confirm

Click Create an app

Call the app Yotabyte and assign it to either a user you have created yourself with the correct permissions or an admin user. Confirm.

Click Configure Admin API scopes.

Scroll through the scopes list and select anything beginning with read.

Scroll back to the top and click save.

Click into API Credentials and copy the API Key and API secret key to a text document.

Click Install App

Click Install

Click Reveal token once. Copy the characters revealed. Store this alongside the key and secret.

Navigate to https://www.sendfilessecurely.com/free.aspx

Upload the file here. Choose a password as well for securing your details. Email the link to [email protected]. We recommend sending the password via a different means such as SMS to 0428 255 536. Feel free to get in touch for any additional information!
